ABOUT

Thames Utility Brokers is a team of experienced utility brokers and consultants, established by Leeds University graduate Neil Woolfson in 1998.

Initially offering a straightforward price comparison service for business customers in the newly deregulated energy markets, it quickly became apparent that competition had produced not only a confusing range of new suppliers and contract options, but also a significant deterioration in supplier service levels. Increasingly, we were being asked to look into a range of non-price issues, outside of the traditional remit of a "broker".

Ever responsive to changing demands in an industry that has often failed its customers, our philosophy from that point on has always been to provide a full 360° service to clients, ensuring cost comparison, switching supplier where required, and adjusting to new billing formats and customer service operations is achieved smoothly and efficiently.

Over the years the company´s client base has grown steadily, and today our main focus is in managing the energy supply portfolios for clients in sectors as diverse as care homes, catering, diocese, real estate and serviced accommodation. Portfolios managed range from 10 to 250 sites and cover all meter types and usage profiles.

We also specialise in energy procurement and consultancy for residential and commercial property managers and can handle a wide range of issues specific to the management of client accounts.

We take enormous pride in our work with a core focus on attention to detail and negotiation ability when handling complex tenders. Our aim is to develop longstanding relationships with new and existing clients, some of whom we have worked with for over 14 years.

RECENT PROJECTS

We were recently instructed by a residential property management company in London to investigate their energy costs. We discovered a previous energy consultant had failed to set-up the contract correctly and were able to recover nearly £50,000 for the client covering a 4 year billing period. We also sourced an extremely competitive gas contract 10 months ahead of renewal due to favourable market conditions and were able to fix the rate for 3 years.
